ADRIAN FLYTE
Adrian grew up in the supernatural underworld of Las Vegas, the son of a pair of powerful dragons who owned luxury casinos and worked as information brokers. His upbringing was privileged, but incredibly sheltered. He had the best tutors in every subject imaginable and very few friends his own age. After his parents arranged a political betrothal between him and Velvet, the daughter of a rival crime family, he's following her to work for the Adventure Society as his first foray into the real world.

abilities
dragon abilities
Draconic Magic: Dragons are powerful creatures who can master a broad range of magical abilities. Living for potentially thousands of years, they grow in power as they age, and the most ancient dragons are capable of terrible and grand acts of magic. Adrian, however, is barely more than a baby by dragon standards, and is capable of no innate magic whatsoever.

Shapeshifting: While adult dragons are capable of assuming human form freely and easily, Adrian is only able to transition between his dragon form and his human form thanks to a spell placed on him by his mother - the dragon equivalent of training wheels. She can sense whenever he makes the shift, and as a result, he does not like doing it unless he absolutely needs to.

Adrian's dragon form is about the size of a large cat, albeit with an impressive wingspan. He has burnished copper-red scales and mismatched eyes (one silver, one gold). His fire breath was a little bit pathetic before he picked up his extra ability, but now he can augment it with that. He retains heightened endurance and durability as well as sharpened senses while in human form.

Draconic Enchantments: Adrian's mother has put a handful of other enchantments on him, mostly in the interest of protecting his mind. It is difficult to influence him through the use of magic, and impossible to read his thoughts or feel his emotions. Unbeknownst to Adrian, he also has a locator enchantment placed on him which lets his mother know where he is at all times.

Goldlust: Dragons who indulge their greed too frequently can be afflicted by a condition known as goldlust, which causes them to obsessively hoard an item of their fascination (which can be anything, not just gold). The further into goldlust a dragon falls, the more their erudite and knowing personalities will regress to the bestial and reclusive.
bonus ability
Pyrokinesis: The ability to create and manipulate fire.

Astral Projection: (Works imperfectly, but it's permanently attached to him)
mundane abilities
Book Smarts: Like all members of the Flyte family, Adrian is an incredibly overeducated person. Dragons (and particularly Flytes) pride themselves on knowing the most they can; in the Vegas underworld, they serve as information brokers and experts-for-hire on supernatural lore. Adrian knows a lot about a lot, and has always has a natural ability for absorbing information that his mother covets and envies. His education covers all typical human topics as well as many supernatural ones as well.

Photography: He was really into making stop motion animation films with his dolls when he was in middle school. While he's abandoned that particular pursuit, he does still keep up with photography as one of his very few creative hobbies.

Swordsmanship: Not his strong suit, but he has been taking lessons since he was a kid.

background
🐉 The Flytes are an ancient clan of dragons originally from the Veneto region of Italy. For the last hundred years, however, they've been deeply entrenched in the underworld crime scene of Las Vegas. They own and operate several luxury casinos there. Adrian's mother, Perpetua Flyte, is particularly feared and respected in the supernatural Vegas community as a criminal information broker.

🐉 Adrian isn't an only child, but he is the first hatchling in the Flyte family in a good handful of decades, and he was extremely doted on by his mother and father both. Since he was a child he's been groomed as his mother's protégé and given very little personal freedom over his own life. Though he's always struggled a little with living up to this expectation, it has only begun to come to a head recently.

🐉 The betrothal wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back, but it didn't help. After a particularly tumultuous decade with the vampiric Vespertines, the Flytes' close collaborators and on-again-off-again allies, Perpetua agreed to a political marriage between her son the the daughter of the Vespertine clan. Adrian has never been particularly happy about this, but is nothing if not dutiful to his family, and agreed with relatively little fuss.

🐉 For the child of a mob boss, Adrian has led an incredibly sheltered life, and probably would've turned down his invitation to the Adventure Society if Velvet hadn't been interested in responding. Although he's not sure he's a good fit for being an adventurer, he is easily lured by the promise of a fancy title (Head Archivist) and time to get to know his fiancée a little better away from the prying eyes of their overbearing parents.
miscellaneous trivia
Has an extensive collection of haunted dolls which his mother absolutely despises.
